CANCELLATION TO BE RESISTED

RUGBY, December 5. action of the Persian Government in cancelling the Anglo-Persian Oil Coy’s, concession on November 27 was the subject of several questions in Parliament.
Captain Eden, -replying for the Government said that the British Government -were fully aware of all of the circumstances, including the fact that the Coy’s, concession had definitely been granted fo r a period of 60 years as from 1901, and that it contained no provision for cancellation. On December 2, h e said, the British Minister at Teheran had made the strongest representations to the Persian Government, emphasising tha t a very serious view was held by the British Government, and adding that while it wa. s still hoped that the matter might be amicably -settled, -the British Government would not hesitate in -case of need, to take all legitimate measures to protect, its just and indisputable interests.
