CHRISTCHURCH, December 6. The story of hoav James Garfield, He:\th obtained the position of en-gineer-clerk to Kaikoura County Council hy means of forged testimonials, was related .at the police Court this morning, when he pleaded guilty to three charges ,of forgery land was committed to the Supreme, Court for senfence.
Heath was described as tit electrical engineer 33, of Palmerston North. He diicl not retain his position long, resigning after a day or two.
