NEW PLYMOUTH AGREEMENT. (Per Press , Association Popyright.) NEW PLYMOUTH, December 1. A settlement wa s reached in the sawmillers’ and timberworkers’ dispute in the Conciliation Council, but the new award will cover only the mills in the Taranaki towns, the country mills being deleted from the award. A reduction of wages of about 20 per cent, was involved. The overtime rate is reduced from time and a-half for the first four hours and double after that, to time and a quarter, and time and a half respectively.
