Before the wool sales opened last night, representations were made to brokers by clients on the subject of a possible bounty to farmers and as a result, Auckland WoolbrOkers’ OrganRntion telegraphed to the Prim e Minister .asking for an assurance t'hat the provision of th e bounty. ..scheme's, would be (retrospective, and that sellers at this gale would not be.pexcjuded merely by reason of the fact that they.hpd sold their wool. - .. v . • ■. ■.cv A reply received,, stated “Th e question of assisting primary producers in their difficulties is at present receiving: the consideration of the Government, but the form of relief, if it is. decided any re'.ief can be afforded, has not yet been settled, and may not in any case make provision for a system of bounty.”
