WELLINGTON, December 1. Fanners’ problems and central reserve- bank legislation were the main topics of discussion by the Coalition caucus this morning, according to a statement made by the Prim® Minister at the adjournment. He Slid that the Coalition was a-s solid ms when it was first formed, and that there was no foundation for rumours that there wn-s a rift in the party. “There is absolutely no suggestion that there is -any rift in the lute,”, declared Mr Forbes, at the cOne'usi.on of a lengthy caucus of the Coalition party. '“Coalition its ia* solid to-da_v as when it was first formed,” lie said. Members of the party had adopted a very reasonable outlook, and shown a keen desire to assist the Government in the task confronting it.
The central reserve ‘bank, and the problems of the fai'mens lin'd been discussed in -a very friendly way. As far as could be ascertained only Messrs Samuel and Stall-worthy were absent from the deliberations of the caucus. Questioned regarding their absence, Mr Forbes’ only comment wn* “Well, I didn’t see their faces.”
