BOWLING

The second round of the singles championship is nearly finished, only one game being unplayed. There are five players dropping put of the third round having 1 had two losses. The draw for the third round will be made this evening.

The Superintendent of the Mental Hospital has extended an invitation to members of the Hokitika Bowling Club to attend the formal opening of the green on Wednesday afternoon next at 2 o’clock, which has been accepted and all members available are requested ,to attend at that time. The Mental green is reported to 'be in capital order this senson, and more interest than usual is being taken thereof in view of the fact that the overflew at the West Coast Bowling tournament will play there in February.
