DIRECTORS MEET

WEST COAST LIME COMPANY. A meeting of Directors of the West Coast Farmers’ Co-operative Lime Coy. Ltd., was held at Hokitika on Saturday last. ‘Present: Messrs Mulcare (chairinn a) Ryder, Thomson, Smith, Kennedy, Mclntosh and Fisher. It was decided that in view of the depression prevalent and the consequent hardships farmers were endure ing, some effort should be made to try and help to ease the burden if at all possible. It was agreed that lime in liberal quantities was absolutely essential if successful farming were to be carried out, and that this company (being purely a Co-operative Farmers’ Coy) must endeavour to place lime within the reach of every farmer. It was therefore decided to reduce the prices from December Ist. Burnt lime will be reduced by 8/-; mixed lime 4/-, and carbonate of lime 2/- per ton,

At those prices, Ross lime with its exceptionally high analysis, represents one of the most remunerative investments possible at the present time, when money has to be /judiciously spent. It is hoped that farmers will loyally support the company ns increased output is the only way by which these low prices can be maintained. As no profits are being built up by this company, increased support must revert to the consumer in the form of cheaper lime.
