The announeemnts were greeted with applause by many of the packed audienc'-, and a few who expressed amusement and later laughed openU or applauded when a subject did not collapse during the heal-, ing service were told that t.,ey veie mocking the work of Jesus Christ and exhorted not to show their spiritual depravity, Mr Dallimore enjoined his audience; to take Jesus Christ on trial for a month, .and, incidentally, to give up cigarette smoking and drinking. He stated that he did not know why there should be any objection to his work, as be was only trying to make Auckland see the Saviour as lie had found Him. Jesus had the power of healing. The revival fire was hardly started yet. Soon the win s would be busy the world over with its success. “I am perfectly certain New Zealand will be what—say a city of 1 ght on the lull,” he said. “Oil, v.mi’t she. and then sonfe! “It is not: a bit of use anybody sdpffiiv 'against une.” lie remarked’ soon .afterwards. “T.f all the newspapers in tlie -world preach against me it won’t wor.ry me.”
