It. seems impossible .for the clever nnd' beautiful Constance Bennett to make a bad picture. M-G-M’s talkie version of the great stage classic, “The Easiest Way,” . , presents the star in one of. her very best interpretations. “Laura Murdoch” is undoubtedly one of the piost poignant portraits of a woman’s emotions ever placed on the screen. Th.e star is ably seconded in her endeavours by tvtfo of the best masculine performers in the business. Adolphe Menjou and Robert Montgomery. Marjorie Rarnbeau .repeats . with “El,fie” the success of ' “Bella” in “Min and Bill,” her first attempt in the talkies. Anita Page is fine as “Peg,” Laura’s sister, while Clark Gable, stage star of “The Last. Mile,” makes h's fihn debut as “Nick,” Anita’s husband. j, •Farrell Macdonald and Clara BLandick are more*than, adequate as “Mr and Mrs Murdock.” A good supporting programme will also be shown.
