DAIRY REGULATIONS
AMENDMENTS TO "..'EE ACT. WELLINGTON, November 17. Important amending regulations under the Dairy Industry Act, 1908, are made by an Order-in-Council, gazetted to-night. They provide that, after the coming into force of this Order, no persons shall l carry on the manufacture of dairy produce in any manufacturi .g dairy except in pursuance of 'a .license to be granted by the director of the dairy division. *•
For the purpose of granting such license, any application, for it may he referred to a committee of three persons, who shall he appointed by the Minister of Agriculture, and such committee shall \ndvisa a director on the following matters in relation to application :
(a) The economic necessity for the establishment of a manufacturing, dairy, or an additional* manufacturing dairy, in the district. (In) The prospect of carrying on 'successfully the manufacture of dairy produce in the premises sought to be licensed, having regard to all of the relevant circudistances.
(c) The probable effect of competition from the marufacWdng dnjrv sought to he licensed on the quality of the dairy produce which might be manufactured therein, or in the competing mn v| nfa n ti-w v ' nr dn'Hos.
