STRIKE CONTINUES
COAL MINES IN SOUTHLAND. (ter Pr3ss Associucion — Copyright.) INVERCARGILL, November 17. It is reported that at a meeting of the Nightcaps Miners’ Union, to-day, it was decided to carry oir with the strike. According to a report, the owners offered work to 188 of the 300 men on strike, and indicated that, in the event of the owners’ terms being rejected, they would close the mines indefinitely. The men '-ere circulated, it is stated, and they r ferred the matter to the Union, which rejected the owners’ terms. The minors concerned are the* Mossburn, Linton and .Wairakj, all at Ohai.
