The “Evening Standard’s” special correspondent says that Warner told him at Melbourne that Australia’s tests team, in battle order, was 60 per cent, stronger than any State side. “That because England hae beaten South Australia and Victoria easily, she is a- certainly for the ashes, is a view I don’t share.” “It is ridiculous,” 'adds Warner’, “for London critics to describe Bradman as a clay-footed idol, because of iiis double failure at Perth.”
