SYDNEY, November 16

Mr Drummond, Minister of Education, speaking in the New South Wales Asgemlbly, emphasised what he termed a tremendous increase in the cost of the social services in New South Wales .since 1928. The cost that year was three million pornds. The cost in 1931-32 was nine, millions. H e added that there -were people whose mental outlook was that the State should support them while they gav e nothing in return. The Government were determined, however, that this sort of thing must stop.
