WEDDING BELLS

DENTON—PRESTON

The marriage was celebrated yesterday afternoon at St. Patrick’s Church, Greymouth, of AJeen, second youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs G. Preston, of Arney Street, and Lawrence, eldest son of .Mr and Mi's L. P. Denton, of Bluff. Bey. Father Gregory officiated. The 'bride, who wa s escorted by her father, wore a lovely gown of ivory Ja'conne Taffeta, designed on Grecian lines. Her embroidered veil was worn off the face, and held in place with sprays of orange blossom. Her sheaf of pastal tinted flowers completed a charming ensemble. Mlsg Eileen Denton, si-ster of the bridegroom, attended as bridesmaid. She war e an ankle-length frock of Japon'ca pink georgette alld a picture hat to tone-, ttnd canned a sheaf of Iceland poppies, in pink shades. Mf Martin Preston attended the bridegroom as best man. Subsequent to the ceremony, '» inception was held in the Municipal Band Hall, where Mrs Preston, mother of the bride, received her guests wearing a frock of navy silk morocain, under a smart navy silk reppe coat, with hat to 'match. Mrs Butler, grand-mother of the bride, was attired in black charmer&e. A dainty, repast was partaken of at which the customary toasts were honoured. Later Mr and Mrs Denton left on thejr wedding tour, the 'bride wore a reseda green costume, trimmed with black silk astrakan, and hat and shoes to match. Their future home will b e at the Bluff. The best wishes of their many friends will go with them for a happy 'and prosperous wedding life. Lagt evening, at the Municipal Band Hall, Mr and Mrs Preston entertained their many friends at a social evening.
