Luis Somme, aged 63, was remanded on a charge of possessing twenty-two dies for the manufacture of counterfeit florins. The police told the Court that two thousand coins had been seized. They expressed the opinion that at least five thousand pounds worth of coins had been mad© fiom the dies in the past eighteen months.
