FUNCTION AT WANGANUI.
(Special to “Guardian.”,, WANGANUI, November 141 i Approximately 3(>() couples attended the West Coasters’ (5.1.), Association’s ball in the Druids’' Hall,. Wanganui” last week. 'The hail was tastefully decorate! with var by-coloured .light*' and bunting. while, Iceland poppies 1 were used txt brighten the suippei room. The committee responsible for the satisfactory arrangements which conlargely to the evening’s enjoyment consisted of Mesdames C. W. Avsoii,, J; .Deere, M. C. Watts, W. Mutton, N. Owen, J. Comrie, .Miss Ivennedy, and Messrs IS outer,, J. Deere, W. Mutton, G. Sherman, 0.. Dobson, W. Ayson, B. Lampitt, R. Briscoe and Symans.. Music, was supplied by Bennett’s Orchestra, and., the dance programme •included both old-time and modern dunces. Mrs Clarkin (ex-H.okitikr,), . one of the oldest West Roaster's, [who is 95 years of.ag< was the guest of the evening, and with Mr W. A. Yeitch she led the grand march and was afterwards presented with a bouquet of Iceland poppies and maidenhair- fern. , Also present was Mr A.
