OUTBREAK IN AUCKLAND
(Per Press Association — Copyright.',
AUCKLAND, November 14
A scrub fire caused extensive damage to plantations and shelter trees at Massey, seven miles from Henderson. The fire spread over an area of two hundred acres, and it threatened dwellings with destruction.
The settlers fought the fire all day, and eventually the Henderson Fire Brigade was summoned. After strenuous work the flantes were subdued. Many valuable shelter trees were burned.
