TARIFF CHANGES

EARLY REVISION

PREMIER’S STATEMENT,

(Per Press Association — Copyright.)

AVELLINGTON, November 14

The precise form, which the proposed general of New Zealand’s tariff, will take, is still a matter of consideration.

M.- Forbes was asked whether the Ministry' had reached a decision on the proposal that a permanent Tariff Board should lie established, this Board to undertake its first task with an overhaul of the tariff.

The Prime Minister intimated that no consideration had been accorded to this suggestion, or even to the nature of the contemplated inquiry. The whole question would be carefully gone into after the session ends. It wa s possible that the investigation will be commenced early in the New Year.
