LONDON, November 11

General Mulcahy in the Dail Eireann strongly protests against the threats to murder him and his colleagues if they spoke contrary to the Government’s policy; He referred to a speech by 'Mr Ryan, editor of the newspaper “Republic,” who had said that “while Republicans had their hands, fists, boots and guns, traitors would not be allowed free speech.” General Mulcahy added that murder threats were made week after week. He asked what was President de .Valera going to do to deal with these incitors to assassination.

Mr de‘'Valera replied that the State would use the fullest powers to preserve the right of free discussion. The Attorney-General would examine the question.
