Notificatioii of the appointment by the Ai r -Ministry to ,a permanent comLnlssion. in the Royal Air Force • has Vieen received tby Flying-Officer G.. E. Watt, of Auckland. FlyUig-Qfficei Watt, who has been attached to No. t Squadron of the N#>w Zealand Air Force, will leave the Dominion early in January to take up hig duties at •No. 2. Flying Training School, Digby, iLincolnshijre, England. The appointment is made under the ficheme recently made available to'university, graduates// 1 who are nominated bv the GovfirnofiGeneral. Only two previous -similar . appointments have been made.
One of ten cadet pilots who were chosen for training...at .Wig'rauv Aerodrome, .'Christchurch, in 1927, Flyjny-Offii-er Watt Veai’s Later. 1 He is a son of Mr and Mrs G. Watt, of Matamata, and completed his education at Auckland and Canterbury University Colleges, whei-Q •ho graduated Bachelor of Civil Engineering. In addition to-hid keen interest ,in flying. Flying-Officer W r att has fan cotive part in various branches of athletics, and-was one of the Auckland Rhodes scholar nominees jM 1930.
