The Racing Conference Appeal Judges, Mr George Gould, Sir Charles Clifford, and Mr A. T. Donnelly, have delivered their judgment in the appeal made by the : executive committee of the Racing Conference against the decision of. thte Greymouth District Committee in connection with the ownership of the <hqr®e Earthquake.. The Grey District Committee decision was: “That the evidence as to the ownership of -Earthquake discloses gra e doubts, but that the Committee it of the opinion that it is not sufficiently conclusive to prove the present owner of the Horse to be other than Mrs M. M. Turley ; but that, nevertheless, the contradictory statements made by Fenton deserve a severe caution.” ' ' - s The appeal’ judges have directed that the matter should be referred back to the Greymmith Strict Com. mittee for r re-hearing, and for further consideration under Rule 584 (I) <E). . V ' The appeal judges continue: “W« direct the Greymouth District C mi* mittee to hear, and determine,, whether any person who is now, ®r has at any time been, registered a s /' the owner of Earthquake, Fas committed any offence against the Rules of Racing.”
