WELLINGTON, November 7.

An echo of a fatal accident in Whitmore Street on 30th July was heard in the Supreme Court to-day when Mrs Rene Edwards, widow of William Edwards; claimed £2,500 damages from Paul Olsen Sabo, taxi driver, under the Deaths and Accident Compensation Act. Criminal proceedings against Sabo also arose out of the accident, and these concluded 'last week, Sabo being sent to gaol for eighteen months. In to-day’s case, the only question to go to the jury was the amount that Mrs Edwards was entitled to recover as damages for the loss of her husband. The jury gave a verdict for Mrs Edwards for £1,350 damages. His (Honour entered judgment for this amount witH costs.
