The tour has been promoted by the W Bendigo Agricultural, Horticultural A and Pastoral Society, .and it is organismg the trip. The Society has had the assistance of the of Industries and Commerce, Tourist and Publicity. , .. ;.n v.< . The party is due .to arrive at Auck- . land by the “Mariposa” on Tuesday t - January 17. After visiting! both' the North and South Island, they will sail from the same port on -ctheir-, returnhome by the “Monterey” a. fortnight later. . "V ? : . Th© main obiect of the tour is to enable Australian farmers to study. pastoral and agricultural methods in the Dominion,, and to survey'the results of these methods on the farm and from the farm to the factory. The Dominion’s marketing organisations are also likely to be studied. Thfe party hopes to visit dairy farms <»nd {tested herds, also butter and cheese factories, experimental farms, the sheep farmers, grading stores and the freezing works. 1 i i As opportunity , offers, conferences will be held..with various organisations connected with primary production. '( The itinerary also provides for visits to well known scenic resorts, including Rotorua ; and the Waitomo Caves. The party -j. will not be re- - stricted to farmers and pastoraliste. It is hoped by the promoters that dairy factory interests and business men interested in agriculture will see their way clear to make the trip.
