VOTING TUESDAY.
(United Pro's# Association. —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.)
(Received this day at 8 a.m.) NEW YORK, November 6,
With a joint cal, for election on the Democratic ticket, Governor Roosevelt and Alfred: Smith formally closed the door of the; Democratic campaign on Saturday night.
Mr Roosevelt said he believed the best interests of the country required a change of administration. He said the programme laid down was the programme of a party that realised that “every one of our people is entitled to an opportunity to earn a living. Tonight we set our seal upon that programme. After Tuesday we go forward to the great task of its accomplishment and we trust, of its fulfillment.” Smith said the records failed to show that the Republican party would be able to give an account of its stewardship for the last four years.
