AUCKLAND, November 4Norman Gloug- Smith, 20, a bank clerk, appeared at the Police Court to-day, charged- that last Wednesday lie broke and entered by d.iy, the premises of Elio National'’ Rank of New Zealand at Newmarket, and stole £3220.
Detective Sergeant Kelly obtained a remand till tins afternoon.
Counsel for accused remarked that it was not. really breaking and entering, a s the accused had a free entry to the bank.*
Detective Kelly said that made no difference, as- accused admitted he stole the money. AH the not©3, £3220 Ids were found buried in j am j nrr ’ in Smith’s garden at seven Jfijsty- by detective Hunt;
