A jury in: tlie Supreme Cour'y tto-dby found'- Ernest John MbDoimld; aged : 34| a- clerk, guilty on- two counts of stealing' £133 Is 9}<], moneys; belonging 'to the Wayside Club/ while he was .the lion, secretary.
The jury recommended- that, owingto the loose fashion and ivay the club had been conducted; the utmost leniency he shown. The man* agement committee was culpably negligent in handling the finances of the chib.
The Chief Justice said he would give every possible effect to the recommendation.
: The prisoner was remanded till Friday for sentence.
The club is run with voluntary contributions in providing food and amenities for the unemployed.
