A general reduction of. 2d a .pound on butter came' into operation tide morning, and consumers will benefit to that extent. The reduction has been brought about mainly through the reduction of the export parity to 10:1, and the reduction’of merchants’ advances auainjt consignments to Bi}d. The wholesale price of standard 'brands is now lO.j cl, and* second wrapper butter and grower \ private wrapper butter, lffil.
