Black of Hamilton broke the. course record and beaded the Rsf in two qualifying rounds for the winter cup competition now proceeding at Hutt Golf Club’s annual tournament. His rounds were 70 :arid 78, total 148; H. A. Black of Miramar 79 and 72, 151. second. Sime (Westport) 80 and 78 is fifth. F. C. Fryer 164, and H. E. Troutibeck 165 (both of Napier) are seventh and eighth. The previous course record was 72.
