This time "'a s put up by F. G. Westi*ara. Six seconds (Separates th|e world’s and schools’ records for the 440 yards. Christ’s College this year set a Hew school time for the race in 53.1-ssec ; the world’s record is 47.2-ssec. The Christ’s College record of 4min 42sec for the mil 6 was put up in 1922 by E. !W. Kerr; the world’s record is 4min 40 l-ssec.

Some of the secondary school records have stood 'for many years. Notable are the High School time of 16 l-ssec for the W yards hurdles, put up in 1893 by R. N'ixon ; th e mile walk time of 7min 43 2-ssec at Christ’s College, put up in 1896 by A. C. Neav*, land the College high jump record of sft 4§in, established in 1898 by C. F. Overto-n.
