OPEN VERDICT
DEATH OF GISBORNE WOMAN. (Per Press Association— Ce'jyright. ) GIISBORNE, October ’26. An open veruict was returned by Mr G. Harper, S.M., to-dav, at the adjourned inquest concerning the death of Mrs Elizabeth Beatbe, known as Mrs Burns, who was found dead on July 8. An adjournment had been granted to obtain a further "report from the Government Analyst. ” Laid 1 ' made inquiries into the circumstances of death, and had mad© a search of the house find the surroundings for poison, He' had taken possession of medicine bottles tmd pills, which subsequently were sent to the 'Dominion Analyst,' from whom a negative report had been received. Inquiries from friends and neighbours had confirmed the evidence that the deceased and her daughter and'Burns had got on well | together, and that she at no time gave indications of suicidal tendencies.
