EVASION OF TAX
FINES AGGREGATE £10,560. (Australian Press Association.) MELBOURNE, October 25. The representatives of two city motor firms were to-day fined the record amount of £10,560 for income tax ) evasion. The defence explained that a special reserve fund had been created in 1925. ■ hut later it was found to he unneces- • sarv and withdrawn. When the responsible official realised that this was evading the tax, :he was afraid to inform the Department.!
