£750 DAMAGES
CASE AGAINST STUDENT^, (United Press Association -by Electric Tel egr apb- -Copyright.) CAPETOWN, October 21. Professor Lamont, who wa s tarred and feathered and ejected from a motor in Pretoria Square, some months ago, by students and others, as a protest against reflections op the Voortrekkers contained in his book, was awarded £750 damages. Judge de Waal said that if the author felt the necessity to expose the depravities and bestiality of the war and life, there was no necessity to attack the Voortrekkers.
