Gordon Webb Hazeldine, aged 23, described as a contractor, pleaded •ruilty to two charges of’ theft, and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. A charge is still to be heard which concerns the alleged theft of £IOOO worth of jewellery from G. Coates and Co., Tuam St. GIVEN REFORMATIVE TREATMENT.

TIMARU, October 20. Found guilty of setting fire to the Druids’ Hall, at Oama.ru, on September ]2, Henry Arthur Diehl was sentenced to 18 months’ reformative detention, in tile Supreme Court to-day bv Mr Justice Reed.

FREE LABOUR FOR FREEZERS. MASTEItTON, October 20. A call was made to-day for fi'ee labour for Waingaga and a. number of men are engaged. A certain amount ot picketing will be carried out. There was no interference with the free labour.
