LOTTERY STIR
TAMPERING WITH THE MARBLES. TWO MEN CHARGED WITH FRAUD. (Australian Press Association.) (Received this day at 8 a.m.) BRISBANE, October 20. A Stir was caused by the alleged attempt to tamper with the marbles at this. = week’s drawing of the “Golden Casket” art union, the first prize of which is £6OOO. Two arrests were made. Donald. Mnckay, aged 45, acting as ■accountant t-o the Golden Casket, and William Evans, a traveller, were charged with conspiracy to defraud tike State lottery and were remanded. Tho police informed the 'Court that •Evans’ son w.a« employed by th e arfc junior drawing, and had a marble can,.eider in his, hand the numbers whereon iorrosponded with the ticket Pl,relnred by E -fins at Ipswich.
