NEW FRENCH LINER

The “Times’ ” Paris correspondent says that an unusual feature of France’s new sixty thousand ten, 1029 feet long, turbo-electric driven liner, Normandie, which is being launched at Saint Nazaire on October 29, is that it has three unequal funnels, the first higher than the second, and the second higher than the third. It is designed to lead off the smoke so that neither fumes nor dirt will touch the ship. ' '\r.o. high bulbous cruiser bow will keep the ship dry. There are eleven decks, five running from stem to stern. Public rooms grouped round the lofty hall, include a whiter garden, concert and dance halls, and n roof garden. There are six wireless installations, two for wireless telephony, and also accommodation for 930 first class passengers, 680 tourist, and 560 third class passengers. The average speed will be thirty knots.
