In. the House of 'Representatives yesterday, Mr Mason gave notice'of hie intention to intioduce the Marriage Amendment Bill. . . .. TRIBUTE PAID. The customary motion expressing appreciation of the services rendered by Mr G. C. C. Black, member for Alotueka, and conveying sympathy to his widow, was passed. Tributes to Mr Black’s ability and attention to his duty were paid by Messrs Forbes, Holland (leader of blip opposition) and other speakers. The House adjourned at 2.48 p.m. till 7.30 p,m. as a mark of re'-'pect f° r the memory of Mr Black, EVENING SITTING. When the House resumed at 7.30 p.m., the Pensions Amendment Bil was introduced N by Governor-General s message. (The Minister explained the chief purpose of the measure was to carry out a promise made in the Hou3e in respect to miners’ widows’ pensions. The Bill was read a firet time. OTTAWA DEBATE. The debate 0 n the ratification of Ottawa agreement was opened by Air Savage, who said the agreement meant that secondary industries were to be sacrificed for the benefit of primary producers. Air Ransom contended that the secondary industries’ representatives had expressed great satisfaction with th© results of the conference, and pointed out that the position was .so good in New Zealand with reference to the tariffs on British goods before the conference that very little alteration would b e required, compared with that required in oth.Gr Dominions. The debate was adjourned when the House rose at 11.25 p.m.
