FREEZING STRIKE
ESSENTIAL MEN ALLOWED TO RESUME BY UNION. (Per Press Association — Copyright.) MASTERTON, October 18. It is understood that repair men, greasers and firemen who returned to work at Waingawa Freezing Works today ...ceepted employment under the new conditions. These men iD'e classed as essential. They were authorised to return by the National Executive I the Freezing Workers’ Union, but no mention of conditions has been made by the Executive in its direction. The slaughtermen and pulling hands are not concerned in this development, and they ur e .still out. It is reported that the above order applies to all sheds coming under the jurisdiction of the Freezing Workers’ Union.
