THE PASSING OF CHIDE. The racehorse Chide; which was destroyed in Sydney consequent upon breaking a fetlock, was bred in Canterbury in 1925 by G. Murrey Aynsley, ? .. who raced him there.. He was-a fine performer in New Zealand. As a two-year-old lie failed to win, but at three.. years in five starts he- gained four sue- ;l cesses, including the 'Hororntn Cup. At four years he was unbeaten in his. five races in the Dominion.
After s;orin g at Ashburton and Dun., edin, he xvon the. New Zealand Cup> with great ease, and at the same meeting .also captured the Canterbury Cup and the G. G. Stead Gold Cup. He was then sold >»t a very high price to Mr T. C. Trautwein, a leading Sydney owner. - Chide, proved a big disappointment in Sydney, although he occasionally showed glimpses of his real form.
He won the Chipping Norton Stakes at Warwick Farm, the A.J.C, Danger Handicap, 'and several races at Warwick Farm, but failed when heavily supported for more important events.
