FAITH HEALING

CONDEMNED BY A BISHOP

AUCKLAND, October 17

Strong criticism of the faith healing missions which have been -attracting considerable attention in Auckland and Hamilton was voiced by Bishop speaking in St Peter’s Cathedral, Hamilton, on Sunday. Emphasising the valve of sacramental confession, the Bishop said that most of the people concerned, if. they made use of-confession, would have no need for “that stupid -emotionalism,” which was doing 0 . great deal of harm to Christ’s kingdom. Only those who knew what , confession re lly was could grasp what a tremendous protection it was against the forces of evil, Confession .was compulsory in the Roman Catholic Church but, contrary to the opinions , held by many Church people, it was permissible in the Church of England.
