EVICTION THREAT
TO 700 FARMERS IN MANITOBA, (United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) WINNIPEG, Octobr 15. Seven hundred grim-faced farmers some of whom had tracked for a distance of seven hundred miles, have invaded the capital to demand that the Government shall save ther farms from seizure for the non-payment of their taxes.
The Premier of Manitoba has agreed to meet them on Monday.
They are camped in the Labour Hall. Their sympathisers have plentifully supplied them with food. Police Chief Newton forbids their holding a parade on Monday. ALBERTA FARMERS NEED AID. CALGARP, October 14. The United Farmers of Alberta Province are asking the Federal Government for a bonus of at least five cents per bushel on this year’s crops.
