Overnight rain left the Highfield links in a slightly heavier state than yesterday for the final of the Dominion women’s championship between -Mrs J. C. Templer (AVaimate) and Aliss B. Rutherford (Hawarden). Keen interest was displayed, and at the end of the morning’s play, Airs Templer way four up. In the early stages Alls Templer gave a rather indifferent display, while her approach shots and putting both proved erratic. Airs Templer improved and showed fine form to assume a six-up> lead at the eleventh. Aliss Rutherford then rallied to win bflck three holes, but lost the eighteenth, giving her opponent a lead of four to commence the afternoon round.
