11l connection with the decision of Lord Wakefield nob to participate in further motor-boat speed-'contests for personal reasons, his business associates estimates that he has spent' £250,000 in motor-boat racing, and £IOO,OOO on Miss England 111 alone. All the speed ventures he has financed have exceeded £1,000,000 in cost. Sir Malcolm Campbell declares that the decision is a great pity, and will mean serious loss to the cause df British motor-building.
