£350 WORTH OF JEWELLERY.

CHRISTCHURCH, October 7

Several daring thefts from suburban homes and shops have occurred this week. It is estimated that since Monday night, jewellery valued at £350 has been stolen from five houses, and one-jjishop. The most audaciou s tin ft cf the six occurred last evening,, when the home of Charles Purdie was entered while Purdie was working in his lighted garden at nine o’clock. Jewels in a safe and jewel cabinet worth , £IOO were stolen.

Jewellery worth £3O was also stolen the same evening from the home of S. O. Harris, St. Albans.
