HIT TRAIN
FLOAT WITH HORSES. (Per Press Association — Copyright., WELLINGTON, October 7. As the Wellington-Palmerston train was pulling into Paekakariki station this morning, the driver ■of a float conveying three -horses to Otaki race-' from Trentham, apparently was not aware of its proximity and made to cross the rails. Catching sight of the danger he applied the brakes promptly, but the float struck the train which war, also being braked, and suffered damage in front. The driver escaped injury as also did The horses. They were Gay Court, Arc-ios and 'Late Jest. They ?oon settled down after the fright and apparently were none the worse for the shaking.
