Saint George who is highly educated and pleasant mannered, became a SergeantMajor during the war and w as sen t to America to train troops.

The story of his life is a detective thriller. He first became a menace by burgling large country houses m 1923. He had a well equipped houseboat at Guildford, where he . entertained during the daytime lavishly, including a party of police and their wives. He Was the life of every gay party aboard. St. George had a motor car and always plenty of money. The police in the meantime were perlexed by a whole series of burglaries in the neighbourhood, till ultimately a constable traced , a bicycle track from a burglarised house to the house boat. St. George could scale house walls like a monkey and had a strange power over dbgs. None ever barked at him. The most ferocious came crawling to his feet. “You must be a bold courageous man, because you . have burgled throughout the country; alone, ewhich requires nerve and skill,” said.. the Judge when passing sentence.
