FRESH WAGE CUT

At a conference between the railway companies and Hull employees’ unions, the former proposed an allround ten per cent, reduction in wages and salaries, to replace a deduction that was awarded in March, 1931, of 24 per cent, for those paid under 50s per week; five per cent, on excess over 40s; and 38s for unskilled workers 5 the conditions of the service to be untouched. The conference adjourned to allow’ a consideration of the proposals by the men’s executives. -
