KEEN RIVALRY
BETWEEN CANADA AND U.S.A. FOR CHINESE WHEAT ORDERS. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) OTTAWA, September 27. The Canadian Government’s spokesmen state that there is no intention to extend credits to .China to enable her to buy Canadian wheat. The proposal has been left with- the Canadian Wheat Pools.
The United State 6 is making efforts to sell Wheat to the Orient on a credit ■basis. These are seriously hindering Canadian wheat sales in the East. The grain dealers assert that Canada hitherto has always (supplied the wheat for almost all the Chinese October and November needs. This year, however, the Washington authorities ate endeavouring to divert this trade through credits;
The ■ Chinese are declared here to be fpiito able to buy wheat for cash, The shipments to th e Orient from Calia.la during the next two months are expected to exceed 3,000,000 bushels. 'Seven cargoes have already been arranged.
