COURT MARTIAL
NATAL INQUIRY AT AUCKLAND. C.B. AS WELL AS DERATED. (Per Press Association — Copyright.) AUCKLAND, September 28. The trial by court-martial of Samuel George Adams, Supply Petty Officer of H.M.S. “Laburnum,” was concluded , to-day. The Court found the charegs of improperly leaving his ship and ot neglecting to keep properly the supply and provision lists had been proved. The charge of failing to hand over to the accounting officer oart of .01AS 10s 7d received for clothing, tobacco, etc., had partly been proved hi fcha>’ the accused had failed to deliver £l3 19s lid. The charge of fraudulently converting £l7 10s 8d had not been proved. The accused was acquitted on the fourth charge. On the others he was ordered to b e kept in detention for 30 days, and to forfeit two days’ pay. - The sentenc© results in the accused being disrated from Supply Petty Officer to Supply Assistant, and also in the loss of good conduct stripes.
