WRESTLER SUED
FOR BREACJi OF CONTRACT

WELLINGTON, September 26.
Bull Montana, .the American wrestler and an ex-movie star, appeared at the Magistrate’s Court to-day as the defendant in. a claim by the National Sporting Club, Incorporated, for an.alleged breach of contract. The Club maintained that some months ago, after between the fehow Assocr.tion and AL.,-Haft, the defendant’s ’ manager ? jn America, tianiporta- . tion was arranged for Montana, who arrived at Auckland on August 15th. The terms, -accepted by, Montana were contained nh- alcalde which offered him five matches, the wrestlers to . take half,the gatq, the train and boat . fare to be paid: Prior to arriving, Montana hadr agreed with the Auckland Wrestling Association to wrestle Kaplin on August-;20, and it Was-al-leged ’that this constituted a breach of contract. -. t— • -. ■•
Montana wrestled, Demetral at 'Wellington on August .22, and arrangements were made for him tp appear against Thompson .: on August 20. Thompson was.; pot. available, however, and KOtdmSti•. wa& substituted. ’Montana at -first agreed do the, substitution but later he refused to- wrestle. The plaintiffs claimed £lOl YU- 84 special damngee,- and a. further £9B general damages for breach of .contract, v Montana- said that-lie Was advised that his programme provided -for matches against ;; Thompson, Walker, and Mamos.
