ILLEGAL COINS
■(Pdr Press Association — Copyright.) •WELLINGTON, September 25. Counterfeit shillings are at present in circulation in Wellington. They are believed to. have come from China through Australia. They are remarkably good imitations, and, so far as the average person is concerned they differ 1 from the minted shillings only in, thej? lack of .pure ring. They are dated 1921, and to these used to handling coins are slightly., darker and duller in appearance, and also slightly lighter to expert fingers, it is believed that large quantities of these coins were brought into Australia from China,, and, the few, in' circulation here have come from the Commonwealth.
